Mezzo-soprano Hetna Regitze Bruun was born in Denmark and studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen where she obtained her diploma in solo singing. She made her début in 2008 from the soloist class at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus with Bodil Øland. Hetna has given numerous live recitals in Denmark, England, Germany and Belgium and has performed as a soloist in numerous concerts and oratories in northern Europe. She has been soloist with The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra and Aarhus Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared at the Royal Opera House and at the new scene ”Takkelloftet” in Copenhagen as well as other opera scenes in Denmark. In 2008 Hetna made her film début as a Valkyrie in the British art film Feature, directed by Shezad Dawood. She has also been highly successful with the concept Yellow Lounge and crossover projects such as DJ Messiaen and Moya Reloaded under the “Reload Classics” organization. Furthermore Hetna is director of the young successful company “Home Opera Ug” based in Berlin and “Home Opera Switzerland” HOS. Furthermore she is the director of the concept “Stand-up Opera” founded in 2002 in Copenhagen. Hetna Regitze Bruun’s recording of Rued Langgaard MUSIC OF THE SPHERES with Danish National Symphony Orchestra won a P2 price at the classical radio channel, Danish Radio and was also nominated for the BBC Music Magazine Award 2011. The recording topped the charts of both BBC Music Magazine and American Classics Today. The successful Bruun Hyldig Duo began working together in 2006. In 2010, the duo’s first CD was issued on Naxos, which included Messiaen’s major cycle Harawi. This received acclaim from both Danish and international press, and was selected as the Editor’s Choice in The Gramophone Magazine. Bruun Hyldig Duo has performed in Denmark, Italy, Germany, France, England and the USA. They released their second CD, ‘Skoenne perler’ in 2010 on Naxos, with songs by Danish composers from the 20th century. In September 2015 they will release the second cd with vocal works by O.Messiaen at NAXOS, International.
